Privacy & Security
6 Questions16 How is my data protected?
We use SSL encryption, store only necessary data and do not share it with third parties. Details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
17 Do you use cookies?
Yes, but transparently and with your control. Technically necessary cookies (cart, session, consent settings) are always set. Additionally, we use Matomo (self-hosted, GDPR compliant) for anonymous visitor statistics and affiliate cookies (AWIN, eBay, Amazon) – both only with your consent via our consent center.
18 What is the Consent Center?
Our Consent Center appears on your first visit and lets you choose exactly which cookies you allow. There are 4 categories: Necessary (always active), Analytics (Matomo), External Media (YouTube videos) and Affiliate (AWIN, eBay, Amazon). You can change your settings at any time via the shield icon at the bottom left.
19 How do you embed YouTube videos?
We use a 2-click solution. YouTube videos are only loaded when you actively click “Load video”. Before that, no connection to Google servers is established.
20 What analytics data do you collect?
We use Matomo (self-hosted in Germany) in cookieless mode – no cookies, anonymized IPs, all data on our own server. We specifically collect: page views with time on page, traffic source (referrer/search engine/direct), device type (desktop/mobile/tablet) with browser & OS, screen resolution, language, country & city (GeoIP-based, not address-precise) and whether you are a first-time or returning visitor. Additionally: anonymized event data (affiliate clicks, 404 errors) and search terms on our website. No connection to names, email or customer account possible. All only with your consent via the Consent Center.
21 Do you track search engine bots?
Yes, we log accesses from crawlers like Googlebot or Bingbot – but without IP addresses. We only record the bot name, the URL accessed and the timestamp. This helps us improve our SEO strategy and identify indexing issues.
AI & Technology
3 Questions22 Do you use Artificial Intelligence?
Yes, in several areas: Our 3D Scout (AI chatbot) answers questions about 3D printing. Blog articles are AI-assisted in research and manually reviewed. The Hardware Radar uses AI for product categorization. All AI processes run either locally on our server or through European providers.
23 What is the Creator Hub?
The Creator Hub is our platform for 3D printing content creators. We showcase selected YouTube creators with their videos and connect them with matching products from our Hardware Radar.
24 Do you have a 3D printing Wiki?
Yes! Our Wiki explains technical terms, materials and technologies around 3D printing – from A for ABS to Z for Z-offset. Ideal for beginners and as a reference.
